Phono Analytica was founded by Roberto Ruggeri, a forensic audio specialist whose professional background spans more than twenty years in sound and audio technology.
The company grew from the intersection of professional audio experience, forensic examination and the practical demands encountered in casework.
Phono Analytica was created to turn that experience into specialist software developed specifically for recorded evidence and forensic work.
More Than Twenty Years in Professional Audio
Roberto began his formal audio training in 2003 at SAE Institute in Milan. His professional path then developed across radio, television, music production, audio post-production and live sound.
Working across these environments built practical knowledge of recording systems, signal flow, editing, processing, monitoring, file conversion and the behaviour of audio through different technical chains.
This wider technical background later became directly relevant to the examination of recorded evidence.
From Audio Production to Recorded Evidence
Forensic audio work changed the purpose of that technical experience. A recording is no longer treated as creative material, but as evidence whose characteristics, history and limitations must be examined.
Experience with recording chains, acoustic conditions, editing, compression, conversion and previous processing helps explain why a recording sounds and behaves as it does.
The forensic task is to establish what can be observed, measured and documented, and to separate those findings from conclusions the available material cannot reliably support.
Why Phono Analytica Was Created
During forensic casework, Roberto repeatedly worked across powerful specialist tools, separate windows, multiple analysis stages and different export processes.
The recurring problem was not a lack of technical capability, but the operational friction created when examination, comparison and documentation were spread across disconnected steps.
